This week was all about solving some of the problems with the animation.
This was driving me insane:
Notice the stretching around the feet and hands. I had narrowed it down to either the rest position, or the clumps. After a few days of troubleshooting, I found that I had set clumporigin to be based on TX TY and TZ. Changing that over to RESTX RESTY and RESTZ solved the problem (duh). This also solved the weird disappearance of clumps that I was experiencing, as well as a lot of the fur freak-outs.
After that was fixed, flickering started to occur halfway through the animation. Initially I thought there was a problem with my racing ratio bend setup, but disabling that didnt fix it. Eventually I figured out that the setup would recalculate rest after the 48th frame (since the cycle is 48 frames long). After frame 48, the animation jumps back to frame1 via modulus. I've now changed that so the walk cycle repeats back and forth, forward and backward. So instead of calculating 48,1,etc, it goes 48,47, etc.
Other than that, the whole eppies project is pretty much on hold until we get a symmetrical model and rig. So, I've been working on GFR with Al.
I started painting the textured and scratched areas.
